Good News

So i just found out some good news. Something i designed is now in production. Maybe that doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's my first one, so to me it is a little bit awesome.


Not bad huh? they wanted something mid-century modernesque. Here are a couple more images. Unfortunately it retails for $594.99 and i don't think they give me any discounts.



This isn't EXACTLY my first one i guess. There are a couple more things i more-or-less designed back in college that i found out are also available.

The first was a freelance project i did for an outdoors product company in SLC. The end product didn't end up looking much like my concept, but it kept some of the original elements and ideas. Which is probably a good thing because my ideas were much better than my execution.

The other was for my senior project. It's a docking cradle/spare battery charger for this hand-held PC. I actually don't know if this is available or not. the only thing i can find on it is this tiny picture from their website. My team of engineering students and i worked on this pretty much the whole year, and still had to turn it over to the clients to finish off. i blame the class structure.

So yeah, these two student ones were originally mine designs, but (A) someone else finished the details and changed them quite a bit from mine, and (B) they weren't that great to begin with. So this new one is much more exciting.

As far as i know that's all i can put my name to. I'm hoping in the not-too-distant future there'll be a lot more to show for my year-and-a-half working in the industry.
